Sony Music Latin has quietly restructured some major players in its organization, Billboard.Biz has learned.
Key among them is veteran sales executive Guillermo Page, the senior VP Commercial & Sales, who sources confirm left the company earlier this month. Page had been with Sony since 2005 and was a key figure in increasing the company’s digital and physical marketshare over the past three years. A big advocate of digital marketing and sales as well as non-traditional sales and promotion, Page also supervised catalog exploitation and licensing. He came to Sony from EMI Latin, where he was VP of marketing for five years.
Sources say Page’s position was eliminated and absorbed by Sony Distribution in New York, in a move that was undertaken earlier this year in other Sony labels.
Page’s departure came days before Sony Music Entertainment let go about 25 staffers, mainly from sales and business affairs, as reported on .biz.
Meantime, Nir Seroussi, Sony Latin’s VP of A&R and marketing for the West Coast, has been promoted to a more senior executive post, based out of Miami, sources confirm.
Seroussi’s exact new title was not confirmed.
