Image Entertainment will issue the DVD “Selena: The Last Performance,” on Sept. 2, Billboard Bulletin reports. The first live DVD of the late singer to hit the market contains her legendary 1995 Houston Astrodome concert, which set an attendance record for the venue (64,000 people) that stood until last year.
The DVD includes 55 minutes of live performance footage, as well as a 44-minute documentary on the making of the movie “Selena,” featuring interviews with Jennifer Lopez, who played the singer.
The appeal of the Tejano singer, who was killed months after the Houston performance by the president of her fan club, has endured. Last year, her label, EMI Latin, reissued her entire catalog of recordings; “Ones” is currently No. 12 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart and No. 43 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums survey in its 45th week on the chart.
