Selena Gomez secretly spent two weeks in a rehab facility in Arizona in early January, dealing with issues that were not related to substance abuse. RadarOnline first reported the 21-year-old’s quiet rehab stint, and People has since confirmed.
On Jan. 5, Gomez was admitted to Dawn at the Meadows in Arizona, although a rep for the singer says that the treatment was voluntary and “not for substance abuse.” In December, Gomez canceled her Stars Dance tour of Asia and Australia, set for January and February, to focus on her personal needs.

“My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them,” Gomez said in a statement issued by Live Nation. “But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be. To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”
In 2013, Gomez scored her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with “Stars Dance,” which spawned the Top 10 hit “Come & Get It.” Gomez had toured behind the album in North America and Europe last year before scrapping a string of 2014 shows.
