Selena Gomez and Charlie Puth wasted no time blending their talents for an unreleased record probably titled “We Don’t Talk Anymore.” After the “See You Again” singer previewed the jam on Instagram, Gomez told Billboard that the duet was a product of their instant chemistry.
“I just met him a few months ago and we hit it off and we’re having so much fun,” she said on the red carpet at Billboard’s Women in Music ceremony in New York (Dec. 11). “[Charlie] pulls out the best in me. It’s really great. He’s super talented and it was fun. It just kind of happened organically, to be honest.”
Selena Gomez to Be Honored as Chart Topper at Billboard’s Women in Music 2015
Gomez, who was named “Chart Topper” at the annual Billboard event, has been on a roll since releasing her fifth album, Revival, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in October and carried the intoxicating A$AP Rocky collabo “Good For You” and the single “Same Old Love.”
Beyond Revival, the songstress also shared the chart this year with a Toronto crooner she thinks had the best album of 2015.
“The Weeknd,” Gomez said when asked who put our her favorite album in the past 12 months. “I’m so happy that [Beauty Behind The Madness] exists. I just really like that he came at it at such a way, a new fresh direction.”
She continued, “Obviously, he’s insanely talented but this [album], he challenged himself. He made a really iconic pop record, even though it’s not pop and it felt like it was just a mixture of his darkness and the pop sound.“
Selena Gomez on Her New Chapter — ‘I’ve Deserved This. I Earned it. This Is All Me’
While she’s relished the success of a new album and personal changes in her love life, she noted that she will have no New Year’s resolutions. “Ugh, I don’t believe in them,” she said. “At this point, I never keep them.”
