News of a second round of Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner’s curated music festival Eaux Claires was announced shortly after the first one went on its way.
Similar to last year’s snail mail lineup announcement, the organizers of Eaux Claires delivered to early-bird ticket buyers a mixtape of demos and B-sides from this year’s performing artists.
Now the full lineup that will take place again in Eau Claire, Wisc. has been officially revealed. Bon Iver will perform once again alongside James Blake, Beach House, and Erykah Badu. This year’s bill features a lot of Midwestern talent like Chicago sextet eighth blackbird with Bryce Dessner and Bonnie “Prince” Billy, as well as more homegrown bands from Wisconsin and Minnesota, like punk band Tenement and the eccentric Har Mar Superstar.
There are a few major surprises to the lineup. The twin brothers Dessner, also in the National, will be coordinating and performing their Grateful Dead tribute project, Day Of The Dead. Amazingly, Indonesian experimentalists Senyawa will be making a special U.S. performance. In addition, the 2016 Eaux Claires fest will have performances from the notorious Melvins, Ojibwa Native American group Midnite Express, Arcade Fire’s Sarah Neufield and Richard Reed Parry, and more.
Two-day general admission passes go for $169, and will become available tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 12 at 11am ET. The organizers have made changes to the camping grounds, doubling the size of the previous year’s lot. For more information on ticketing and lodging, head here.
