On Wednesday (April 3), Schoolboy Q announced that he was postponing the release of his new single “CHopstix” out of respect for Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed over the weekend. A day later, despite his sentiments, the song has appeared on Spotify.
“Ay, I’m trippin’ on you, I gotta have you/I spend it on you, I might buy two/Now get in my coupe/I like her legs up like chopsticks,” Schoolboy raps, followed by a bouncy chorus via Travis Scott.
“Y’all got the game fucked up if y’all think I’m trying to put out music tomorrow. I’m not putting out no music tomorrow. It’s not cool,” Schoolboy said on Instagram. Others have also postponed music releases to honor Nipsey, including YG and Machine Gun Kelly.
“CHopstix” follows last month’s “Numb Numb Juice,” and both are expected to appear on the rapper’s upcoming fifth album. Listen below.
