In the wake of the mainstream breakthrough of Houston’s hip-hop scene, preeminent Texas rapper Scarface is readying a new album for release next month. Due Feb. 14 via Rap-A-Lot 4 Life/Asylum, “My Homies Part 2” features Houston heavyweights Lil’ Flip, Chamillionaire and Bun B on the track “Platinum Starz,” while Bun B reappears with Willie D on “Sittin Tall.”
“My Homies Part 2” also features collaborations with Ice Cube and Z-Ro (“Definition of Real”), Juvenile, Petey Pablo and Z-Ro (“Pimp Hard”), Devin the Dude (“B*tch’s”) and Mike Jones (“Crazy”).
The album is Scarface’s first since 2003’s “Balls and My Word,” which debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and has sold 232,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The original “My Homies” was released in 1998 and has sold nearly 774,000 copies to date.
