SBS radio network will launch a “Chayanne Music Release” weekend Aug. 1 at 7 a.m. in which songs by the Puerto Rican pop star will play in heavy rotation on four key SBS stations nationwide.
The Chayanne push comes in support of the track “Amor Inmortal,” which will be the title song of the mini series “Gabriel.”
“Gabriel,” produced by Mega Films, a division of SBS, will premiere on the SBS-owned La Mega television station sometime in September. The track will be included in the soundtrack of the series, to be released later this year on Sony BMG. It will also be offered for a limited time period as a free download at Lamusica.com, SBS’ website.
The Chayanne weekend is the kind of integrated arrangement SBS was seeking when it launched SBS Entertainment last year. The division is run by former label executive Oscar Llord.
The Chayanne Music Release weekend will run on SBS’ stations: Amor, 93.1 FM in New York; Romance, 106.7 FM in Miami; Estereotempo in Puerto Rico and La Mega, 106.9 FM in Puerto Rico.
“Amor Inmortal” was penned by Estéfano with David Cabrera and marks the return of Estéfano to songwriter following his brush with death after he was shot last year.
