NEW YORK — The Savoy Label Group, which ELW estimates has annual U.S. revenue of $10 million, has signed with WEA for distribution in the United States, according to sources.
The deal is said to take effect in May. Savoy is currently distributed by RED in what sources say is a one-year deal.
The label is the U.S. arm of Japanese record label Columbia Music Entertainment. Savoy’s catalog covers traditional jazz, classical, classical crossover, adult contemporary and lifestyle records, and includes such artists as Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Billy Eckstine, sourced from such owned or controlled imprints as Denon Classics, Muse and Landmark.
Savoy’s current roster includes Andy Bey, Ravi Coltrane, Vijay Iyer, the Warren Brothers, Andre Rieu, Saucy Monky and Joan Armatrading.
Executives at Savoy and WEA were unavailable to comment.
