
Earlier this year, Sasha released a new album titled Scene Delete. “I hadn’t really had a break for about eight years,” he explained. The record was heavy on ambient textures, and the producer told The Guardian it might serve as a bridge towards soundtrack work: “[I] hope it lands on the right director’s desk one day.”

But as a longtime DJ, Sasha also knows the value of initiating movement on a dancefloor. This week he premiered the club mix of “Pontiac” exclusively on Billboard. “I’ve had this version up my sleeve since around January,” he suggested in an email. “We’ve been tweaking it as I played it out more and more. I’m really happy with this version and it’s now a main part of my set.”
“‘Pontiac’ is a really important part of Scene Delete,” he added. “When we finished it we instantly knew that we could transform it into a club record. It has that brilliant mix of euphoric and hypnotic that is so hard to find sometimes when making club records.”
