Sarah Jaffe has returned with an arresting new album, Don’t Disconnect, that further removes the singer-songwriter from her acoustic folk beginnings. The single “Lover Girl,” which was released last month, has received an imaginative music video that recalls the oddball brilliance of David Lynch — check it out below, premiering exclusively on Billboard.com:
The “Lover Girl” video highlights the song’s most sinister undertones, as Jaffe sets out on a mysterious mission in a crowded night club. Don’t miss a cameo from Jan Strimple, a prominent 80s runway figure, in the video as well.

Best known for the rollicking single “Clementine,” from her 2010 released Suburban Nature, Jaffe has continued to grow into a more rounded artist on Don’t Disconnect, which was released on Tuesday (Aug. 19) via Kirtland Records. A series of album release shows continues on Saturday night (Aug. 23) at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas.
