
Blue-eyed soul singer Sam Smith is taking a hiatus from songwriting to work on his love life.
During his recent visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the U.K. chart-topper said he wanted to take a year-long break to rack up experiences for his next album.

“My music is so personal and I need to live my life,” Smith said. “I basically need to kiss some more boys so I can write some songs.”
Smith’s 2014 debut In the Lonely Hour sold more than 5 million copies worldwide and was home to his Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles “Stay With Me” and “I’m Not the Only One.”
While with Ellen, the “Writing’s on the Wall” singer also discussed chilling with Spectre star Daniel Craig and home life with his cat, Henry. Watch the full interview below:
