Ryan Adams will release his self-titled 14th solo album on September 9. The 11-track self-produced album was recorded at Adams’ Pax-Am Studios in Hollywood, Los Angeles, and follows 2011’s “Ashes & Fire.”
The first single to be lifted from the album, a slow-burning bluesy rock number entitled “Gimme Something Good,” is currently streaming via Spotify and is available as a free download with album pre-orders. The 7-inch vinyl version of “Gimme Something Good,” contains the B-side “Achin’ For More” featuring actor Johnny Depp on guitar.
Since releasing “Ashes & Fire” Adams has been busy in the studio producing for other artists, including Fall Out Boy and Jenny Lewis. Last year also saw the formation of a new three-piece punk rock band, Pornography, alongside Make Out singer Leah Hennessey and singer/songwriter Johnny T. Yerington. Pornography’s debut EP “7 Minutes in Heaven” was released in April 2013.
In 2012, Adams released a limited edition 15-vinyl disc box set, “Life After Deaf,” which chronicled his 2011 “Acoustic Nightmare” tour after a two-year break from music stemming from his struggles with Meniere’s disease.
