Casting is underway for the roles of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in the upcoming feature film Exile on Main Street: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones, based on Robert Greenfield’s book about the summer the band spent working on the legendary album in Nellcôte, France, before its release in 1972.

The film will be directed by Andy Goddard, Deadline reports, who has previously directed episodes of Downton Abbey. Brandon and Philip Murphy penned the script; casting has now begun for the iconic lead roles, with an expected release date for the film some time this winter. Meanwhile the real Rolling Stones have been keeping plenty busy, with their historic concert in Cuba earlier this spring, their Zip Code summer stadium tour that kicked off in May and an announcement that they are currently at work on a new “blues-themed” album.
According to a rep for the band, the Stones have no involvement with the project; it still remains to be seen how Mick and Keith will feel about their new cinematic stand-ins.
