Telecommunications giant Rogers Wireless has entered into an agreement that allows customers of its “wireless box office,” to purchase tickets through Live Nation without service charges.
The deal with Live Nation, which was announced this morning, provides Rogers customers with no service fee tickets to all Live Nation events in Canada if they purchase them through the wireless box office.
Additionally, a second program, called “no service fee Wednesdays” starts June 10 and allows all music fans – not necessary Rogers customers — to have tickets for shows at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre delivered to their mobile phone without additional fees. Customers of Rogers can select their show and Rogers has agreed to pay the ticket service charges on all purchases.
Users who purchase through the mobile service will be sent digital tickets that contain a bar code that can then be scanned at the venue, Rogers says. Venues for the shows include the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto and the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. Rogers customers will also be given exclusive points of entrance at select venues across Canada, along with the opportunity to participate in exclusive events, the company says.
Live Nation and Rogers Wireless now offer music fans a less expensive way to see their favourite bands. This program offers fans affordable access to the artists they love,” said Riley O’Connor, Chairman of Live Nation Canada.
