Robin Thicke has been locked-in as the first headliner for the Soul Beach Music Festival in Aruba, taking place again over Memorial Day weekend, Billboard.com can exclusively reveal.
Thicke will play the Nikki Beach Amphitheatre on the closing night of the fest, May 25.
The multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer is coming off a huge international breakthrough year. Thicke found himself at the center of some of the year’s biggest stories in pop music, from the controversy surrounding the lyrics and video for “Blurred Lines” (ft T.I. & Pharrell) to his notorious appearance alongside Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards.
“We’re incredibly thrilled to welcome Robin Thicke back to the 2014 Soul Beach Music Festival Line-up,” comments Mark Adkins, executive producer of Soul Beach Festival Productions. “He’s had a banner year with chart topping songs plus electrifying performances and we are excited that he will complete his world-wide Blurred Lines Tour in Aruba.”
Last year’s event featured the likes of D’Angelo and Ne-Yo.
Organizers of the May 21-26 event will announce further artists and comedians in the weeks ahead. For ticket information, head over to www.soulbeach.net.
