R&B/soul artist Robin Thicke has inked with the Neptunes’ Star Trak imprint through Interscope for the Feb. 14 release of his second album, “The Evolution of Robin Thicke.” Neptunes principal Pharrell Williams appears on first single “Wanna Love You Girl,” the video for which was lensed by Hype Williams.
The album will also feature the tracks “Thank You,” “High School Man” and “Lost Without You.” Says Thicke of the set, “My greatest desire with this album was to write songs that were completely honest and sing them with the emotion I was feeling when I wrote them.”
“The Evolution of Robin Thicke” is the follow-up to 2003’s “A Beautiful World,” which debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart but sold just 59,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Thicke has previously served as a songwriter and producer in collaboration with such acts as Michael Jackson, Mya, Mary J. Blige and Christina Aguilera, among others.
