Rita Ora has teased her new single “I Will Never Let You Down” for the better part of two weeks, and on Monday (Mar. 31), the U.K. pop singer unveiled the full version (and accompanying music video) of the stylish spring jam. Watch below:
In a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of “I Will Never Let You Down,” Ora described her latest track as an “uplifting love song,” and the song is indeed a contented grin of a single, with its EDM edges smoothed out by a feathery performance from the 23-year-old singer. Meanwhile, the music video re-imagines the carefree rabble-rouser from the “How We Do (Party)” clip as an elegant model, complete with black-and-white poses, glittering gloves and luscious red lipstick.
“I Will Never Let You Down,” which premiered on BBC Radio 1 on Monday morning, was produced by Calvin Harris, whom Ora is also rumored to be dating. The song previews Ora’ second studio album, although U.S. fans never got their hands on the overseas-only 2012 release “Ora.”
At least stateside enthusiasts got to hear the singles “How We Do (Party)” and “R.I.P.” feat. Tinie Tempah, which peaked at No. 22 and No. 28 on Billboard’s Pop Songs chart, respectively. Ora will perform at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend festival in May, and her sophomore album is due out worldwide through Roc Nation/Columbia this summer.
