The second of three covers for Elle’s May Women in Music issue stars Rita Ora. Channeling 18th century vixens, Ora shines in a textured pink Chanel Haute Couture gown, a blossoming headpiece by Ken O’Rourke, black leather gloves and matching thing-high leather boots. Think tea party princess meets bondage diva.
For her second cover (yes, Mrs. Ora is so fab she gets two covers) the British pop sensation was photographed in Calvin Klein, a glittering ultra chic Mickey Mouse Headpiece by Philip Treacy and black whiskers penciled in on her nose.
Whiskers are the new cat eyes for summer beauty! Rita shared in our whisker excitement. “Not many people get so excited to have their picture taken in whiskers. Rita definitely has a special aura,” Creative Director of Elle, Joe Zee mused at the shoot.
Inside the magazine the singer opened up about her personal style and even her childhood idols, the Spice Girls. “I just remember watching them — not even meeting them — and I was completely mesmerized,” Ora said about the ‘90s girl group. “It feels great to meet someone who is not human, but is.” Rita also chatted about meeting another one of her idols—Jay-Z, who would later sign the singer to his label. “I didn’t think in a million years that I’d fly to New York to meet one of the biggest music moguls of our time.”
