Emerging dance and funk act Sam Sparro has signed with EMI Music Publishing in a worldwide deal.
Australian-born Sparro has signed with his songwriting partner Jesse Roog, founder of the LA-based electronica label Modus Vivendi. Sparro’s debut album will be released by Island/Universal later this year.
Felix Howard at EMI Music Publishing U.K. will take on A&R duties for the project.
“This is a deal that everybody wanted to secure, and I’m delighted that Sam and Jesse have made the decision to sign with us,” says EMI Music Publishing MD Guy Moot in a statement. “Their songs are completely infectious and have huge potential, and we’re looking forward to working with them for a long time to come.”
EMI Music Publishing’s roster includes Natasha Bedingfield, James Blunt, Cathy Dennis, Gorillaz, Calvin Harris and My Chemical Romance.
