Singer/songwriter Risa Binder has long looked to country singers such as Loretta Lynn and Alison Krauss for inspiration, and now she’s paying tribute to one of Nashville’s latest icons.

Her new video is a stripped-down performance of Taylor Swift‘s “Red,” joined by a vocal loop and acoustic guitar accompaniment from Oscar Bautista. The playful video intercuts between performance and goofing around, with Binder sneaking up on Bautista to start a pillow fight.
“Taylor Swift is an incredible writer. She has this amazing ability to write lyrics that everyone can relate to,” Binder told Billboard.com. “I wanted to cover her song ‘Red’ because I’ve been on the same love roller coaster ride, feeling all the colors she’s talking about…especially Red.”
Binder released her debut album, “Paper Heart,” on Warehouse Records in February. The Brooklyn-based musician recorded the set in Nashville with producer Marshall Altman (Ingrid Michaelson, Natasha Bedingfield).
