As promised, Rihanna has unveiled “You da One,” the second single from her sixth studio album “Talk That Talk,” 10 days before the album’s release. The pop star let fans “unlock” the song on her Facebook page beginning Friday morning (Nov. 11).
Slated as the opening track on “Talk That Talk,” “One” returns Rihanna to the engaging dancehall sound heard on singles like “What’s My Name?” and “Man Down.” The lyrics are simple and sweet, with Rih settling into a relationship quite comfortably: “You know how to love me hard/I won’t lie, I’m falling hard/Yup, I’m falling for ya, but there’s nothing wrong with that,” she sings over a mid-tempo, dubstep-tinged beat courtesy of Dr. Luke.
“You da One” arrives as Rihanna’s first “Talk That Talk” single, “We Found Love,” continues to dominate the Hot 100, clocking its second week at No. 1 this week. Also included on “Talk That Talk,” which arrives on Nov. 21, is a song, “Drunk on Love,” that sample indie rockers the xx, and a title track that features Jay-Z.
While Rihanna will make her feature film debut next May as a weapons specialist in “Battleship,” the pop star also took a second to salute U.S. troops in honor of Veteran’s Day. “I would like to send well wishes to the troops for the sacrifices they have made! We thank you dearly! TRUE HEROES!!!” she posted on Twitter.
