Rihanna basks in the glow of the social buzz generated by the release of the “Rih-mix” to her just-crowned Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “S&M,” as she flies 11-3 on Billboard’s Social 50 chart.
The diva had temporarily taken a dive out of the top 10 last week (falling 5-11) after having spent every single week in the top three from the chart’s launch last December. But, the new remix — which features Britney Spears on guest vocals — clearly charmed the social world.

Rihanna earned a 12% gain in week-over-week Vevo plays, a 16% increase in YouTube channel views and a 10% jump in followers to her Twitter account.
The Social 50 ranks the most active artists on the world’s leading social networking sites — YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike — using a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.
As for the rest of the top 10, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga hold at Nos 1 and 2, respectively, while Eminem moves 3-4 and Akon slides 6-5. Shakira falls two to No. 6, Katy Perry is also down two to No. 7 while Lil Wayne is steady at No. 8. The Black Eyed Peas climb one slot to No. 9 and Britney Spears slips three to No. 10.

The chart houses a notable slide by Wiz Khalifa, who moves 19-38 after the flutter of activity surrounding his “Rolling Papers” album release died down. This past week, he had a 19% decline in Myspace plays and a 28% decrease in new fans. The momentum behind the album propelled him 23-17 two weeks ago.
