Rihanna was on a comedic roll during her appearance on The Graham Norton Show Friday (June 15) to promote her new movie Ocean’s 8 alongside co-stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham.
During the interview, Norton brought up the show-stealing yellow Guo Pei dress RiRi wore to the 2015 Met Gala, and how the extremely long gown inspired countless online memes, many of which compared it to an omelet.
Rihanna’s Ocean’s 8 co-stars didn’t hesitate to playfully tease the pop superstar-turned-actress as she shared the story of how the dress was fit into a limousine.
“I put it in the car first and then I had to put it on in the car … the train actually had to come out first so I that I wasn’t like, dragging it out,” Rihanna said, noting that it was “all choreographed.”
“You must’ve had some handmaidens,” Carter commented, to which Blanchett added, “Under the omelet?” RiRi responded, “I can’t lift that thing by myself. Six people helped me up the stairs.”

After host Norton asked where the dress is now, Carter jokingly inquired whether Rihanna wears it every morning to breakfast. “All these [outfits], I either keep them in archive or I have to send it back,” RiRi answered.
But Rihanna ended up having the last laugh. When Norton asked the Ocean’s 8 ladies whether they had all attended the Met Gala at some point, the only one to say no was Carter, who is known for her unapologetic unique fashion style.
“That’s ’cause you wear dresses like that,” Rihanna teased, pointing to Carter’s colorful, wild-patterned silk dress.
“That’s right, that’s entirely right,” Carter replied, laughing. “I’m gonna cry now.”
