Two years ago, Rihanna, and luxury footwear designer, Manolo Blahnik, met up in Paris to design their first limited-edition shoe capsule, Denim Desserts, a six-piece collection comprised of denim and sequined heels that sold so quickly the demand crashed Blahnik’s site. A few months later, the designing duo announced their Savage line, which featured fur-accentuated thigh-high winter boots, and now Rihanna and Blahnik are back with their third and final sequel: So Stoned.
The summer sandal capsule will feature Swarovski crystals and PVC and Perspex clear heels in four styles: two pairs of mules, strappy sandals and gladiator stilettos with prices ranging from $1,265 to $2,325.
Blahnik took to his social media channels to tease the fourth-coming collab, posting three photos of Rihanna rocking the blue-and-green, diamond-embellished gladiator stilettos in her recent “Wild Thoughts” music video. The designer captioned each photo, “#SOSTONED #RIHANNAXMANOLO coming soon… @badgalriri.”
“I enjoy everything about Manolo,” Rihanna told Footwear News. “He is such an incredible human being. He’s so fun to work with, and I was blessed with the opportunity to see him create from scratch. He’s so passionate about what he does, and it makes it so worth it when you buy or wear a pair of his shoes because you know what went into it.”
“He’s not copy and paste,” she continued. “He’s not letting anyone do his work. He has a small team as well. He still loves everything about shoes, and it’s so refreshing.”
Rihanna’s limited-edition sparkling shoe designs will launch on July 6th and can be purchased online and in-stores.
