Ricky Martin will kick off the 8th Wonder of the World Concert series with a Feb. 25 performance at the Taj Mahal in Agra, India. The event will benefit Unicef’s “Unite for Children, Unite Against AIDS” campaign.
Martin will perform just days after wrapping-up his 15-city U.S. theater tour, which in turn, comes in the wake of a three-month Latin American tour.
The 8th Wonder of the World concert series will feature two concerts each year from now through 2010, scheduled to take place at wonders of the world locations. The second concert, for example, is scheduled for Sept. 2 at the Forbidden City in Beijing, China.
The 8th Wonder of the World organization, formed by Tantra and East West Entertainment, was founded to increase global awareness for children affected by HIV/AIDS. Funds will be raised for Unicef, YouthAIDS and the Ricky Martin Foundation, among others.
Martin is a Unicef goodwill ambassador who advocates for children through his Ricky Martin Foundation.
