Rick Ross’ “Deeper Than Rap” bows atop the Billboard 200 with 158,000, giving the rapper his third chart-topper . . . Two more new sets arrive in the top 10 this week: Depeche Mode’s “Sounds of the Universe” enters at No. 3 with 80,000, and new rapper Asher Roth gets cooking with “Asleep in the Bread Aisle” at No. 5 with 65,000 . . . • Rick Ross easily debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with “Deeper Than Rap,” shifting 158,000 in its first week. It’s the third topper for the artist. His last set, 2008’s “Trilla,” bowed at No. 1 with 198,000 while 2006’s “Port of Miami” also did the same, but with 187,000. Ross bumps the “Hannah Montana: The Movie” soundtrack out of the top slot, as the Miley Cyrus-enhanced set slips to No. 2 with 104,000 (down 22%).
• Depeche Mode notches its highest-charting album since 1993 as “Sounds of the Universe” bows at No. 3 with 80,000. The new set gives the veteran band its second-best rank on the chart. Its highest came when “Songs of Faith and Devotion” debuted at No. 1 in 1993. However, the opening frame for “Sounds of the Universe” is actually the group’s smallest debut sales week for a studio set since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. The act’s last four studio offerings have all had opening weeks north of 92,000.
• The debut of new rapper Asher Roth, “Asleep in the Bread Aisle,” enters the list at No. 5 with 65,000. The set’s lead single, “I Love College,” peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 a little more than a month ago.
• Elsewhere in the top 10, Rascal Flatts’ “Unstoppable” slides one spot to No. 4 with 68,000 (down 37%), the “Twilight” soundtrack falls two slots to No. 6 with 40,000 (down 19%), Lady GaGa’s “The Fame” moves up one position to No. 7 with 40,000 (up 9%), Day26’s “Forever in a Day” slides six spots to No. 8 with 37,000 (down 67%) in its second week, the “Now 30” compilation falls four places to No. 9 with 36,000 (down 19%) and Jadakiss’ “The Last Kiss” slips four spaces to No. 10 with 30,000 (down 32%).

• Green Day makes the Modern Rock chart’s biggest jump to No. 1 in 15 years, as “Know Your Enemy” rockets from No. 8 to No. 1 in just its second week on the chart. The track marks the biggest leap to the top since Nirvana’s “All Apologies” bounded from No. 9 to No. 1 on the chart dated Jan. 22, 1994. All told, “Know Your Enemy” is Green Day’s ninth No. 1 on the Modern Rock tally.
• On the Adult Top 40 radio airplay chart, Rob Thomas’ “Her Diamonds” sparkles with a No. 27 debut. It’s the first single from his second solo album, “Cradlesong,” due June 30. His first effort, ” . . . Something to Be,” spawned four Adult Top 40 hits—”Lonely No More” (No. 1), “This Is How a Heart Breaks” (No. 3), “Ever the Same” (No. 2) and “Streetcorner Symphony” (No. 5).
• Katy Perry nabs her fourth hit on the Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart as “Waking Up in Vegas” enters the list at No. 37. It’s the fourth single from her “One of the Boys” album to reach the chart, following “I Kissed a Girl” (No. 2), “Hot And Cold” (No. 1) and “Thinking of You” (No. 17).
