
Willard Ahdritz, Founder and CEO of Kobalt Music Group, today announced the appointment of Richard Sanders as President.
Sanders, who will be based Kobalt’s New York office, will report to Kobalt CEO and founder Willard Ahdritz. In the newly created position, Sanders will oversee Kobalt’s global front office operations, including artist relations, business development, synch licensing and creative services across Kobalt’s multiple rights divisions including publishing, artist and label services and neighbouring rights.

“As Kobalt enters this new phase of global expansion and rolls out next generation client services for our artists, labels and content owners, Sanders will provide a recording rights DNA to Kobalt’s publishing service model,” Ahdritz said in a statement. He added, Sanders has “vast international experience and a uniquely successful track record of delivering both operational and creative results as well as managing both creative and executive talent.”

Sanders career spans more than 30 years and in addition to heading Sony’s International efforts, he was president of global marketing for the company, overseeing Sony’s 43 operating units outside the U.S. Prior to his positions at Sony Music Entertainment,he held executive positions at RCA, V2 and Arista Records.
