Rhino has set a Sept. 19 release for the Jane’s Addiction compilation “Up From the Catacombs,” which culls material from each of the group’s albums. No new or rare tracks are included on the 16-track set.
Primarily drawn from the classic studio albums “Nothing’s Shocking” and “Ritual De Lo Habitual,” the collection features “Been Caught Stealing,” “Stop!,” “Ocean Size,” “Summertime Rolls,” “Mountain Song,” “Ain’t No Right,” “Classic Girl” and “Three Days.”
“Just Because” and “Superhero” are drawn from the band’s 2003 reunion album, “Strays,” while “Jane Says” is represented in a live version from the 1997 retrospective “Kettle Whistle.” “Whores” and “I Would for You” are plucked from the group’s 1987 self-titled live album.
The group’s members are now split into two camps: frontman Perry Farrell’s new band, Satellite Party, recently signed with Columbia, while the Panic Channel, featuring guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins, will on Sept. 12 release its Capitol debut, “(ON)e.”
Farrell previously told Billboard.com Rhino was working on a Jane’s Addiction boxed set but details have yet to be announced.
