The Pixies’ North American reunion tour hit the ground at a sprint, with all 11 dates that went on sale over the weekend selling out almost immediately. Many shows filled within minutes.
The tour will play mainly Canadian and West-Coast theater dates April 14-29. It will be the first time the band has toured together since 1993.
Due to demand, more tickets were made available for the quartet’s April 17 show at Prairieland in Saskatoon, Canada. Tickets for the tour closer at Freedom Hall in Davis, Calif., go on sale March 1.
The Pixies are still confirming dates for a six-week summer European tour. A four-night stand at London’s Brixton Academy June 2-5 has sold out, with a total of 19,000 tickets cleared.
The group is also on board for a May 1 headlining performance at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.
