Reprise Records will release CSNY: Déjà Vu Live on July 22; the release is the soundtrack to the new documentary film “CSNY: Déjà Vu” about Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young’s 2006 North of America Freedom of Speech Tour.
The album features 16 full-length versions of the songs that are presented as excerpts in the film. “It really is CSNY. It’s not overdubbed. There’s no fixes. It’s straight from the board. The basic mixes are the mixes that people heard when we were playing it,” Young explained in a previous interview with Billboard. Because of its natural feel, the album does have “rough spots all the way through it,” Young says.
The film will be in theatres and offered as video on demand on July 25.
