According to Sirius Satellite Radio’s “Howard 100” channel, Howard Stern has been given a one-day suspension from his syndicated show, following an altercation with Tom Chiusano, GM of Infinity flagship WXRK (K-Rock) New York. The argument, which took place following Stern’s Monday show, apparently centered around Stern talking too much about Sirius on the show.
Stern is expected to be off the air on Tuesday. An Infinity spokesperson had no comment on the report.
Monday’s show was the last time Las Vegas listeners were able to hear his terrestrial show, as his contract with Infinity modern KXTE (X-Treme) Las Vegas has expired. During a goodbye to Vegas listeners, Stern mentioned Sirius several times, taking a call from a longtime listener saying goodbye to the show in which he suggested the listener subscribe to the satellite radio service. He also mentioned his upcoming appearance on “The Late Show With David Letterman” in which he’ll make his case to viewers to follow him to Sirius.
Assuming he’s back on the air on Wednesday, Stern will have 23 shows left on terrestrial radio.
