Today’s new-generation videogame consoles like the PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 may have some impressive non-gaming entertainment features, but existing owners seem to know little about them according to a new report from NPD Group.
The PS3 for instance doubles as a Blu-ray DVD player, and both consoles allow users to stream music, photos and video from their home PCs. The Xbox 360 even allows users to buy and download movies, TV shows and music videos. But the NPD reports says that most PS3 owners are unaware of its media streaming capability. Addtionally, only 40% of PS3 owners know about the Blu-ray feature, while only 30% of Xbox 360 owners are aware that it can display in high-def.
