Slowly but surely, The Replacements are getting used to being a band again. A handful of dates (mostly festivals) since reuniting in 2013 has turned into their first full-fledged reunion tour. The 13-date trek starts April 9 in Seattle’s Paramount Theatre.
The band shared all the dates on this new poster:
Of course, this lineup is only 50% original Replacements — vocalist-guitarist Paul Westerberg and bassist Tommy Stinson. Presumably, fans will get the ‘Mats’ recent live lineup, which features Dave Minehan on guitar and Josh Freese on drums.
Keep in mind that Westerberg told Rolling Stone in Sept. 2014 that the band would “likely” make a new album eventually out of the new songs it has been writing. Could this be another step towards the first new Replacements album since 1990’s All Shook Down?
Like it or not, this older, wiser, much cleaner-sounding incarnation of The Replacements appears to sticking around.
