Reggaeton artists should get a boost from “Grand Theft Auto IV,” the new video game that sold 6 million copies and took in $500 million in sales in its first week, according to game publisher Take Two.
One of the 16 in-game “radio stations” players can choose to listen to is called “San Juan Sounds,” and its voice-over DJ is Daddy Yankee. The reggaeton star has one track, “Impacto,” on the station.
The rest of the tracks are Calle 13’s “Atrévete-te-te,” Hector El Father’s “Maldades,” Voltio feat. Jowell & Randy’s “Pónmela,” Don Omar’s “Salio El Sol,” Wisin & Yandel’s “Sexy Movimiento,” Tito el Bambino’s “Siente El Boom (Remix),” and Angel y Khriz’ “Ven Bailalo.”
The video game, made by Rockstar Games, allows players to tag songs they like for later purchase on Amazon.com.
