Redfoo is getting his party rock on for his debut solo album release.
The Grammy-nominated DJ and electropop artist has collaborated with the likes of Stevie Wonder for Party Rock Mansion, scheduled for release on March 18, 2016.
The album (it previously had the working title Where the Sun Goes) will be released through his own Party Rock Records and distributed worldwide by Warner Music Group’s ADA. Redfoo (real name Stefan Gordy) apparently wrote and produced most of the tracks on the album, which was recorded at his Party Rock Mansion studios in Hollywood.
And what will the set sound like? A good time, according to his reps. It “successfully explores a new range of emotion and sounds, perfectly balancing his sense of humor, sex appeal and sensitivity for a diverse listening experience – all rooted in Redfoo’s classic ‘feel good’ mantra,” a statement explains.
Redfoo and his nephew Sky Blu (Skyler Austen Gordy) recorded two albums as LMFAO, Party Rock from 2009, and Sorry for Party Rocking from 2011, which yielded the No. 1 U.S. smash hits “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It.”
Redfoo, the youngest son of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, relocated briefly to Australia where he enjoyed a high profile stint as a judge on X Factor and saw three of his songs hit No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, including the solo track “Let’s Get Ridiculous”.
He’s since had judging stints on The X Factor and Dancing with the Stars and he’ll appear as himself in the feature film Alvin & The Chipmunks – Road Chip, for which he contributed “Juicy Wiggle” which is on his new album. The Chipmunks film roles into cinemas Dec. 18.
