• After last week, where the top debut on the Billboard 200 was at No. 8, this week the chart gets blasted with a bevy of new arrivals. A full dozen debuts bow in the top 20 — the most the chart has ever seen. Leading the pack of new entries are the “Now 30” compilation with 146,000 at No. 1 followed by the “Hannah Montana: The Movie” soundtrack at No. 2 with 139,000. Keri Hilson’s debut album, “In a Perfect World,” enters at No. 4 with 94,000.
• Also starting in the top 20: Papa Roach’s “Metamorphosis” at No. 8 with 44,000, Jim Jones’ “Pray IV Reign” at No. 9 with 43,000, Martina McBride’s “Shine” at No. 10 with 41,000, Mastodon’s “Crack the Skye” at No. 11 with 41,000, Blue October’s “Approaching Normal” at No. 13 with 37,000, Slim Thug’s “Boss of All Bosses” at No. 15 with 32,000, John Rich’s “Son of a Preacher Man” at No. 16 with 31,000, Eric Church’s “Carolina” at No. 17 with 31,000 and Yanni’s “Voices” at No. 20 with 26,000. Whew!
• Last week’s No. 1, Kelly Clarkson’s “All I Ever Wanted,” falls to No. 5 with 52,000 (down 43%). U2’s “No Line on the Horizon” slips from No. 2 to No. 6 with 51,000 (down 33%). The “Twilight” soundtrack holds at No. 3 with 102,000 (up 37%). Lady GaGa’s “The Fame” finds itself at No. 7 with 45,000 (down 10%), slipping from No. 5 last week.
• Next week, the Billboard 200 should greet new albums from Flo Rida (“R.O.O.T.S.”), Keith Urban (“Defying Gravity”), Diana Krall (“Quiet Nights”), Prince’s Target-exclusive record (“LotusFlow3r”), Rodney Atkins (“It’s America”), UGK (“UGK 4 Life”) and Bow Wow (“New Jack City, Pt. II”).

• This week last year on the Billboard 200: Day26’s self-titled album entered atop the list with 190,000, and Panic at the Disco’s “Pretty, Odd” started at No. 2 with 139,000. Counting Crows’ “Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings” debuted at No. 3 with 106,000. The previous week’s No. 1, Danity Kane’s “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” slipped to No. 4 with 89,000 (down 62%).
BORDERLINES
• The No. 10 album this week, Martina McBride’s “Shine” (RCA), sold 41,000.
• The No. 10 album for the same week of 2008, Sara Bareilles’ “Little Voice” (Epic/Sony Music), sold 31,000.
• Average total of the No. 10 album for the same week of the year during the past 10 years (2000-2009): 63,150.
PROGRESS REPORTS
• Randy Travis is the first artist in 27 years to send a title to the top 10 on Hot Country Songs twice, as Carrie Underwood’s cover of his 1988 chart-topper, “I Told You So,” on which he’s featured, rises 11-9. No artist had taken the same composition into the top 10 in updated form since Dolly Parton reigned with her original “I Will Always Love You” in 1974 and a rerecording in 1982. (A third take, with Vince Gill, climbed to No. 15 in 1995.)
• Kings of Leon follow their first Modern Rock airplay chart No. 1, “Sex on Fire,” by sending “Use Somebody” to No. 1 this week, too. The act is the first to score back-to-back No. 1s on Modern Rock since Foo Fighters notched a third consecutive No. 1 with “Let It Die” in July 2008.
• Flo Rida’s “Right Round” becomes the rapper’s second No. 1 on the Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart, following his “Low” debut last year. Concurrently, his new single “Sugar” bows at No. 37. Flo Rida’s “R.O.O.T.S.” album will arrive on the Billboard 200 next week.
