Rebel Wilson is denying reports that she will play Adele in a forthcoming biopic. The Pitch Perfect star recently debunked the rumor as a false tabloid story over Twitter, claiming she has never been offered the role.

When one disappointed fan asked if she would play the role if the chance ever came around, Wilson responded with “would depend on the script.”
Wilson’s tweet comes after Adele addressed the report in front of an arena concert crowd in London, where she didn’t appear to be too pleased about it.

“I’ve heard there are rumors about Rebel Wilson will be playing me in a movie,” Adele said. “Let’s see if that turns out to be true. They need my fucking permission.”
Although Wilson won’t be playing the superstar singer anytime soon, she will be in the Disney’s The Little Mermaid‘s Hollywood Bowl debut with Sara Bareilles.
