Rebecca Black had her 15 minutes of fame with her viral hit, “Friday,” and now she’s back for another few minutes in the spotlight with the premiere of “My Moment,” her first official video and single since the Ark Music Factory track catapulted Black to internet fame.
The YouTube sensation, who recently celebrated her 14th birthday, has already walked down red carpets, heard her song performed on “Glee,” and had a cameo performance in Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night,” video. It’s those successes and more that Black celebrates in her video for “My Moment,” which has the young artist singing in a studio, cut together with footage of her rise to fame. The world television premiere of Black’s “My Moment” video is tonight (July 18) at 7 p.m. on “Entertainment Tonight.”
“Friday,” Black’s debut video, had more than 167 million views when it was pulled from YouTube last month due to a copyright claim by Rebecca Black. Black’s team filed the claim, stemming from a dispute with vanity label Ark Music about who owned the track that Black’s family paid $4,000 to have produced.
Black is on track to self-release a five-song EP, due out in August. “My Moment,” the first single off that EP, is written by Brandon “Blue” Hamilton and Quinton Tolbert, and produced by Charlton Petus (Tears for Fears, Hilary Duff). Black was also nominated for a Teen Choice Award today, in the “Choice Web Star” category.
