RealNetworks reports second quarter online music revenue grew 22% to $28.9 million.
Total revenues for the three months ended June 30 increased 8% to $89.4 million. Year-over-year, net income surged to $38.9 million from $4.7 million. On an adjusted basis, excluding agreements with Microsoft and other items, net income totaled $4.8 million vs. $1.8 million a year ago.
In its music business, which includes the Rhapsody digital music service and a subscription radio product, subscriptions grew to 1.6 million subscribers vs. 1.2 million subscribers a year ago. On a sequential basis, subscriptions were essentially flat in comparison the first quarter of 2006.
