
Nipper gets his man. Dennis Blair returns to the RCA Records label as svp promotion, reporting to evp/gm Joe Riccitelli, based in the company’s N.Y. headquarters. Blair will be responsible for overseeing the promotion campaigns for rock, alternative and other formats at the label.

Blair was most recently svp rock formats at Republic where he was instrumental in the success of such acts as Florence + the Machine, Gotye, Of Monsters and Men, Lorde, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath and Volbeat, among others. Over a two-year period, Blair helped the label see an unprecedented 13 No. 1 hits including Lorde’s “Royals” and “Team,” Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know,” Alex Clare’s “Too Close”, Of Monsters and Men’s “Little Talks” and “Mountain Sound” and five straight No. 1’s for the rock band Volbeat.
Prior to joining Republic, Blair was senior director of rock/alternative promotion for RCA Records, where he was instrumental in the campaigns for the Strokes, the Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket and Velvet Revolver. From 1999 to 2002, he was a local promotion manager based in S.F. before being promoted to senior director of rock/alternative promotion for Maverick Records, working with the Deftones, Prodigy and Alanis Morrisette. From 1993 to 1997, he was director of rock promotion at Geffen Records.
