– Emmy-winning TV host/actor Wayne Brady (“Whose Line is it Anyway?”) segues into singing with a debut album on Peak Records/Concord Music Group. “A Long Time Coming” will hit store shelves Sept. 16. In addition to covers of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” and the Beatles’ “Can’t Buy Me Love,” the 12-track R&B album includes original tunes co-written by Brady and production team The Heavyweights. Brady returns this fall as host of Fox’s “Don’t Forget the Lyrics.”
– Marvin “Slim” Scandrick, member of R&B group 112, is in the midst of a promo tour for his solo debut “Loves Crazy.” The album is slated for release in September via Slim’s own label, M3 Productions, and Asylum. Lead single “So Fly,” featuring Yung Joc, stands at No. 49 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Production collaborators and guest artists on “Loves Crazy” include Sean Garrett, Polow Da Don, Faith Evans and Gucci Mane.
