Razor & Tie Entertainment and Gary Gersh’s The Artist Organization (TAO) have partnered. Under the deal, Razor & Tie will provide marketing, sales and distribution to TAO.
The two companies plan to sign a handful of artists per year, beginning with Athens, Ga.-based band Dead Confederate. The quintet’s first full-length album, “Wrecking Ball,” is slated for a fall release through TAO/Razor & Tie.
Industry veteran Gersh was the former president of Capitol Records and has been instrumental in the success of artists including Nirvana, the Beastie Boys and Sonic Youth.
Razor & Tie’s record label roster includes Dave Barnes, All That Remains, EndeverafteR, Angelique Kidjo, Ryan Shaw, Twisted Sister and Neil Sedaka, among others.
