It may have been up significantly, week to week, but the spring finale of “The Voice” clocked a series low for a season ender. Wrapping its run a month earlier than the comparable cycle in 2013, the average 3.3 rating with adults 18-49 marked a 25 percent hit.
NBC still easily won the night in the key demo, and “The Voice” also logged 11.6 million viewers — shy of the night’s most-watched program, “Dancing With the Stars.”
The ABC competition was also down from last year’s spring finale, averaging a 2.4 rating with adults 18-49, but it was only off by three-tenths of a point. The show took in 14.9 million viewers.
“American Idol” aired its performance finale to an average 1.7 rating in the key demo. With an especially heavy amount of reality competition on the night, it suffered a 43 percent drop from the penultimate episode last season.
