For his Overseas Tour, Chinese-American hip-hop artist Bohan Phoenix is bringing his team of friends and collaborators from Brooklyn, loveloveNYC crew, back to China.
The new China tour will begin March 14 in Guangzhou. He will then travel to seven cities before ending up in Chengdu for one final stop, March 30.
Adding live drums, guitars and other elements, this performance will be different from the usual rap concert experience. Over the phone with Billboard Radio China, Bohan shares his new tour concept, “I’m splitting the 80-minute set into two halves: top half, bringing you the sounds of heart-pounding ‘trap music’ that will definitely keep you on your feet; second half, my fans will experience the funkiest rhythm and swing that will keep your hips moving on the dance floor.”
In between the two halves, Bohan has invited special local guests from each city. This is the first time Bohan has toured Mainland China since his groundbreaking JALA Asia Tour in the fall of 2017.
Earlier this month, Dazed magazine hailed Bohan as one of four “Chinese Rap Stars About to Go Global,” alongside Vava and frequent collaborators Higher Brothers and Howie Lee.
