Country superstar Randy Travis has been admitted to a Texas hospital and is listed in critical condition, according to a statement put out by his rep.
The Grammy winner is suffering from complications of recently acquired viral cardiomyopathy. Travis was admitted into the medical facility yesterday.
The news comes nearly a year after Travis’ made headlines with a string of incidents and run-ins with the law. Among them, that the Grammy winner was driving under the influence — reportedly naked — and threatened to shoot the Texas police officers who arrested him. Three weeks later, Travis’ truck was found wrecked and abandoned in a Texas field.
