The Quebec Superior Court on Aug. 12 granted ADISQ a second court order which will allow the local music industry association to seize illicit copies of CDs sold at some 350 flea markets in the Canadian province. The order stands for one year and is valid at any time during this period.
ADISQ also obtained the interlocutory injunction it was seeking against resellers at the St-Eustache, Quebec flea market whose merchandise was seized in raids Aug. 6.
“We will continue to seize these CDs until the message gets through – it is illegal to sell copied CDs, and we will no longer tolerate it,” says ADISQ’s GM and VP, public affairs, Solange Drouin.
On Aug. 2, ADISQ was granted a court order by the Quebec Superior Court, valid for 10 days.
