Before performing at Santos Party House in New York on Tuesday night (June 28), Pusha T told Billboard.com’s The Juice that his debut solo mixtape, “Fear of God,” will be followed by a “Fear of God 2” EP that he hopes to put out next month. Meanwhile, the Clipse rapper says that he’s hard at work with “Runaway” collaborator Kanye West on his proper solo debut, “Black Friday.”
“It’s executive-produced by Kanye, and we’re reaching out to quite a few producers — Pharrell [Williams], Kanye, Bangladesh, Nottz,” the rapper says of “Black Friday.” “I’m just excited about the body of work as a whole. There’s a lot of good creative energy around the project, so I don’t think it can go wrong.”

Pusha performed a fair amount of “Fear of God” as well as Clipse hits like “Popular Demand” and “Grindin'” at the Heineken-sponsored event, which also featured a performance by fellow “So Appalled” MC CyHi da Prynce. He also gave a special shout-out to G.O.O.D. Music, the West-led label which announced a deal with Island Def Jam Music Group on Monday.
“I think the whole G.O.O.D. Music-Def Jam thing can only be good,” says Pusha. “A machine like Def Jam, and the artistry that GOOD Music has… it’s a match made in heaven.”
