“She Hates Me” — part two?
Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin found himself behind bars Wednesday after police responded to a call from a neighbor, alleging that the rocker had taken a buzz saw to her patio. The 41-year-old was booked and later released, telling TMZ cameras: “My neighbor vandalized my house, so I had to take action.”
Asked why he used a buzz saw to attack his neighbor’s property, Scantlin retorted: “It’s called a sledgehammer, dawg.”

That neighbor, unnamed until now, turns out to be electro-pop recording artist Sasha Gradiva. The singer turned heads on the red carpet of this year’s Grammy Awards, earning her the nickname “Gun Girl.”
“This has been going on for a while, a few months. I didn’t really want to talk about it,” Gradiva tells The Hollywood Reporter of her run-ins with Scanlin. “I just focus on my music, but yesterday was just completely ridiculous.”
According to reports, Scantlin used a buzz saw to vandalize Gradiva’s patio and took a sledgehammer to a cinder block wall between the two properties. Scantlin reportedly was upset because he believed that the wall had been erected on his side of the property line.
But according to Gradiva, it’s not the first time Scantlin has pulled such a move on her property, which is under construction. In fact, Gradiva claims that Scantlin has attacked her home “10 times, minimum.”
“I called the police multiple times,” says Gradiva. “Every time, he would run into his house and lock the doors and he wouldn’t open them … Police couldn’t exactly get him for my call, but yesterday they got him. He literally was jumping from my patio to his roof, and [police officers] were running around his house to catch him.”
Gradiva says she has sent multiple letters to Scantlin asking that he stop the behavior, but to no avail. It’s worth noting, however, that Scantlin’s alleged antics weren’t always violent.
She thinks Scanlin may be jealous of the view from her patio, which sits in line with his roof — saying he once placed a tent on his roof to block that vista. Later, he erected a giant flag.
“He gets really creative with his ideas to annoy me,” she says. “He put a huge flag on the border of my wall. On my side, it had the name of his band. On the other, it was an American flag. So whoever would look at it from the street would just see an American flag and from my windows, I just see a big flag with ‘Puddle of Mudd’ written on it.”
Gradiva is taking a break from her #LOVERSWANTEDTOUR and does not maintain current residence on the property. Gradiva says her architect has been living on the property over the past few months.
Asked what prompted Scantlin to tell TMZ that she had “vandalized” his home, Gradiva says a small piece of her patio “goes behind the view line between our properties.
“But I didn’t do that. I bought the house with this patio,” she explains. “[My property] was built more than 10 years ago… I don’t know why he decided to bother me because the previous owner, they didn’t have any issues.”
Gradiva says she bought the home about a year ago.
Gradiva says she’s pursuing a restraining order against Scanlin after the damage to her property, and hopes sharing her side of the story will speed up the process.
“Honestly, I don’t have time for this,” she says of the legal process, noting that if the situation is not resolved quickly, she may be forced to sell her house.
Potential homeowners wary of buzz saws and sledgehammers need not apply.
