— Riptide Music Group has been formed by the merger of Riptide Music and Pigfactory, two Los Angeles-based sync licensing and publishing companies.
Riptide’s newly combined music roster includes songs by Fatboy Slim Iggy Pop, the Turtles, Deadly Avenger, Airborne Toxic Event and Dirty Vegas.
“By coming together to form Riptide Music Group, we believe we can offer our administration clients the greatest possible exposure to worldwide sync opportunities of anyone in the industry,” Pigfactory CEO Keatly Haldeman, who will remain with the merged company, said in a statement.
The company’s services include the worldwide synchronization of music for advertising, movie trailers, television, film and videogames. In addition, the company will also provide services for the international collection of publishing royalties.
“There is a real need within the entertainment, media, and advertising industries today for a publishing administration company with an equally strong focus on both proactive sync and worldwide royalty collection,” Riptide Music president Rich Goldman said in a statement. “Riptide Music Group now fills that need.”
The newly merged company now has three operating units: Riptide Rights, which oversees publishing and master rights for administration and synchronization representation; Riptide One, a curated catalog where the firm controls both master and publishing rights from independent artists, producers and composers for sync licensing; and Pacifica Music Library, a production music library which offers music for all visual media.
